Hawk's Nest is a rustic hideaway, a place of solitude where independent travelers will find extraordinary mountain vistas right from the doorstep. This private homestead cabin is half a mile from Wonder Lake and is the closest lodging to Mount McKinley. From its hilltop perch, the cabin commands a magnificent view of the Alaska Range. The single-room cabin sleeps up to four people with a double bed and a set of bunks. It is equipped with bedding, a wood stove, propane lights, a four-burner range with oven, a refrigerator, and cooking and eating utensils. Firewood, propane and 5 gallon jugs of potable water are provided. An outhouse is located nearby, and showers can be taken at Camp Denali. There is no electricity. The Hawk's Nest is designed for travelers who wish to engage in independent activities.
